Anna Hazare the victor

Anna Hazare has done what others have not been able to do. He has single handedly fought against the might of the State. And without a drop of blood being shed, he has succeeded He has proved that those who advocate violence as a means to achieve one's goal are totally wrong. Violence will never result in victory for any movement. No one has any complaints against Maoists as regards their aim but their means of achieving it is what one does not like. You can't in any way justify killing innocent people in the name of a movement. It is savage to say the least. It is a pity that the intelligentia which support these movements don't condemn their inhuman activities. They play wth words to justify their silence. But they have to take the blame as well. They just can't shirk their responsibility.

Every Indian should support Anna Hazare so that this great nation survives the hardest time in its existence. Those who laugh at Gandhiji's ideals as having no relevance to the present day context, should think twice before commenting on the viability of Gandhian thoughts.

Whose dream?

We happen to experience dreams in our sleep.  There are so many theories on dreams.  Whatever be they may. The question is, who is the person witnessing it?   When I have a dream,  for example,  I am asleep with eyes closed and other senses off.  Practically, I am dead.  Then who sees the dream?                                                 They say it is the sub.conscious mind which is at work when we sleep.  But it is too abstract to comprehend.  We happen to  have colours and bright light in the dream.  Where does this light come from?                                                  The light is nothing but the luminous nature of soul which is the witness to the whole dream and not the visible (sthoola ) body.  The soul only undergoes the ramifications of dreams, be it painful or joyful.  We, the ordinary humans, have to undergo this process whereas the sages will not, for they would have achieved self-realistation.

idol worship

we are aware that human brains can't comprehend anything which does not have a shape or picture.  You can't imagine a vaccum or what a vaccum is?  Humans have thus a qualified mind which fact can't be disputed.  In this scenario, how can a human being visualise God without a form?  It is simply impossible.

That is why, our ancestors have held the view that the idol worship in various forms to signify various aspects of God is a means by which a human can understand who and what is God?  And this will ultimately lead one to  realise oneness of God, Who doesn't have a shape but is only light of complete knowledge.

When God is one, then why should we have different forms of His?  It is simple.  A man or a woman plays so many roles in his/her life even though he/she is one.  For example, a woman is a mother to her daughter/son, wife to her husband, a daughter to her parents and so on.  After all, a human being takes so many roles.  God has so many aspects and attributes to him.  And so, our ancestors have devised various forms of God to understand God's true nature.

I think, we are indebted to our ancestors for devising methods to realise God.  And so,idol worship is absolutely correct.

equality how?

We say all living things are equal.  Men and women are equal.  But it is very difficult to justify this statement logically.  Yet, our ancient Indian thought has a perfect answer to this.  Do you know the answer?

chaos why?

Chaos everywhere in our country, India.   how to overcome?  do you know the reasons for the mess India is in?  Do you have the answer?  But, I think, I have it. A proper diagnosis will lead us to the root of the problem.  It is nothing but the erosion of Indian values and ethos and the assimilation of western ideas and values.  The British, in their rule of our country for over 300 years have systematically destroyed our cultural fabric while imposing their primitive culture upon our society.  Even though they have not succeeded fully, yet our unique identity has been dented. My concern is the imposition of western and other influences on our people by our governments in the recent past through their policies in the name of liberalisation and globalisation of Indian economy.  This trend is more dangerous than the British rule for we will lose our cultural identity for ever.   Something has to be done by the intellegentia of our country to save the country from the commercial exploitation of our country by rich nations of the world which don't care for other countries welfare and culture.  Their main agenda is making money and imposing their will on hapless countries. In this scenario, it is good as long as we do global business without compromising on our values, traditions and legacy.  With the recent outburst of one scam after the other,  I am at a loss to understand where we are heading for.  It is high time people assert their right by keeping the mafia that is at work to decimate our country at bay.

Exploitation of Innocence and Ignorance

World Cup Tamasha is going to occupy our prime time again. It is all stage-managed like Olympic games where drugging among participants is rampant but only a few are made scapegoats. I want to emphasize that we should not let business class exploit us by over hyping the events. Media is the main culprit in promoting these sports and other public events. They sensationalize and over hype the events to suit their needs. It is high time we, the general public, don't fall a prey to their grand designs.
